Working Instructors

John has been animating for over 13 years. In the beginning, he was a self taught animator. After getting a job at Moonbot Studios, in 2010, he learned from some of the best working animators on the 2012 Oscar winning short film The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore. He stayed at Moonbot and became a lead animator and then animation supervisor for the last two years that Moonbot was open. Since then he has worked for Reel FX, animating on projects such as Son of Jaguar and Best Fiends. He was the Animation Supervisor for Flight School Studios, handling all of the studio's commercial and VR projects. He moved on to work for The Third Floor doing previz animation and compositing for the Mandalorian, She Hulk, and many more. He currently works for Blind Squirrel Games, as a senior lead animator on the game New World. Over the years, he has done many freelance projects. He created a massive animation display for a Nick Cage art installation, animated scenes for an Opera by Hannibal Lokumbe, helped on various short films, and is currently developing animation for a live action short with "Muppets." John is passionate about teaching animation and loves to discuss all things animation, in hopes of growing with the art form. When he is not animating, he loves to work on music, providing scores for friends films, pursuing photography, and shooting documentaries.
